 Dear friends in Christ,

There is so much I want to share with you today on this word. I wish we could share a cup together and sit for the morning. After 65 years I am still learning about TRUST. Who to and how to. My place in the roles of being a trustworthy mate, friend and servant.

Today is rather cloudy with some rain so I added to the fire in the woodstove. My thought was at the time how we TRUST in so many ways. Like, in the case of lighting a fire. But, there is one important factor...I have to let go of the match so I don't get burned. Sounds like a silly illustration.

I think God must have placed a certain void in each of our lives to be filled with TRUST in Him above all others. When we fail to let go and do this, we can get burned. The Bible give us a list of those not to trust in. We are not to TRUST in weapons, wealth, leaders, man, works or our own righteousness. Look those scriptures up. It is very revealing.

Our TRUST is to be placed in God's name; Psalm 33:21. In the Word of God; Psalm 119:42. And, in Christ; Matthew 12:17-21.

I have always loved how the Amplified Bible relates Proverbs 16:3..."Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and TRUST them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed."

How many times a day have I placed my TRUST in my own plans? How about you? If you have been with Heartstrings for any amount of time you will see Proverbs 3:5-6..."Lean on, TRUST in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths."

Praise the Lord! In order for us to be vessels of honor we need to put all our TRUST in God's Word and in fellowship with Jesus which we are priveledged to share. We can ask Holy Spirit for wisdom and we will have it! So, there is no reason for you to go on presumption or play a game with a lit match and get burned. Let it go!

Another favorite of mine is in Psalm 37:3-5 where I see four main words. TRUST, dwell, delight and commit. There is no other way to find rest for our souls. WE need to be like the birds I feed. They TRUST me keep the feeder full year round. They dwell close by and return often. If there is no seed, I TRUST God Who made them, to feed them. Have you noticed His faithfulness in your life?

When the things and stuff of life weigh me down I can say, "This I know, that God is for me. In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, In God I have put my TRUST, I shall not be afraid." Psalm 56:9-11.

When I am burdened I can TRUST the Lord to sustain me and that He will never let me be shaken. Read Psalm 54 and see where it ends. "But I will TRUST in Thee."

That is what it all boils down to. Are you putting your TRUST in your finances? Your friendships? Your health? Your career? Any of these can be changed or challenged in a moment. Understand where your TRUST rests. Everything else will be as God orders for your journey.

This morning when I wasn't quite sure if this was the word the Lord would have me share with you, I read Streams in the Desert. I was a day behind, but the Spirit of God used it to enlarge my understanding of this word. Back again to Psalm 37:5, "Commit thy way unto the Lord; TRUST also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." Another way it is read says, "Roll upon Jehovah thy way; TRUST upon him; and he worketh."

"This calls our attention to the immediate action of God when we truly commit, or roll out of our hands into His, the burden of whatever kind it may be; a way of sorrow, of difficulty, of physical need, or of anziety for the conversion of some dear one."

It goes on to say that "We are in danger of postponing our expectation of His acceptance of the TRUST and undertaking to accomplish what we ask Him to do, instead of saying as we commit, "He worketh" "He worketh" even now; and praise Him that it is so."

Our faith may be tested, but we can TRUST that He is really working on the difficulty. Maybe you don't see results from your prayers. WE rest assured that He will do it! So, don't let the enemy tell you that God has had enough of your prayers, now, take it into your own hands. What a liar! Let it go! Let it roll off into His hands and just keep TRUST as your refuge.

I know this has gone long today. But, I feel in my heart that this may be most important for our lives. We will be asked to TRUST our Lord, Abba Father and be ready to take the next step in worship for His answers. Your place and mine is kneeling before Him with open hands and hearts. This decision, of course, He will leave to you and I each day.

The Lord bless you with a free heart. May you realize His greatness, His everlasting love for you. His plans are always best. Place your TRUST in Jesus if you haven't done this yet. He fills you with His Spirit and promises to never leave you alone. I am praying that the matchless love of the Lord rest upon you today. In Jesus mighty name, amen.

Abundance is...only in Him
