 Dear friends in Christ,

Yes, I have been moody. I confess it has been a few days dealing with too many emotional swings. So, I decided to put my hands to work. I pulled weeds. Bending, lifting and moving furniture after that. The workout did me good, at least mentally.

Searching for something to share with you I was reminded to let the Word of God speak. Each persons set of circumstances are different. You may be in the same household, with the same set of happenings, but with a different response and perspective.

Tonight I want to turn all my thoughts on the Lord. Where does our help come from? From the Lord Who made heaven and earth and everyone of us.

First thing I found was from Psalm 43:5..."Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my [sad] countenance."

Isn't this good? Whoever wrote this had to have had a few down days. It is nice to find understanding and compassion. The Bible that sits on your lap now is the best counselor and encourager when your days are rough sailing.

Psalm 55:22..."Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail)."

Some times I feel like I am trying to roller skate. That would not look pretty because it has been years ago that I did. But, it feels great when someone comes alongside you and offers a hand of support. Your balance returns and before you know it you are able to go ahead on your own.

Most of my trouble begins with my mindset. The things that take over my imagination can cripple me for hours. If I'm not careful to take it before the Lord. Here is a sweet promise found in Isaiah 26:3...

"You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You."

Wonderful words of life! Who would turn down peace in exchange for turmoil? Praise the Lord for saving me from myself!

Isaiah 40:28-29..."Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding.

"He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]."

See, our God has wonderful attributes and all His focus is on us! This is time for me to turn my whole focus on Him. Pray with me?

Oh, Heavenly Father, thank you so much for caring about the details of our lives. How we think, how we feel and how much You have in the future for us! You are a wonderful Father! Take our heavy thoughts and bring us peace as the day closes. Thank you in the name of Jesus, amen.

This is certainly just a glimmer of the many facets of God's love for us. He gives to us protection and provision for every day we breathe. Well, my heart is lighter now. How are you?

God bless as you let Jesus have your heavy loads, hard to bear on your shoulders. Thank you for sharing your moments with me on Heartstrings tonight. Your sister in Christ, Patricia.

Abundance is...a light heart
